Imphal, January 08 2013:
Against the backdrop of poor harvest in Tamenglong district owing to rodent menace, the Tamenglong Village Chiefs' Association has drawn the attention of the State Govt and the district administration towards the plights of the farmers of the district.
Ningtinglung Kamei, joint secretary of TVCA said that the harvest in 2012 is hardly one-tenth of the yield as most of the standing crops were destroyed by rodents.
Low harvests were recorded in Tamenglong, Tamei, Tousem and Khoupum subdivisions.
