All set for common future mass rally

The organising committee of the mass rally for Common Future of Manipur is all set to hold the rally on Feb 6 amidst opposition from certain quarters.
Speaking to reporters, convener of the organising committee of the Mass Rally for Common Future of Manipur, Elangbam Johnson said that preparations have been put in place to hold the mass rally on Feb 6.He appealed to all concerned cutting across ethnic divides to join the rally.
It is very unfortunate that some sections have questioned the rationale of the rally, Johnson said.
He urged all concerned�Govt employees, individuals, students and members of different organisations to join the rally for the common future of Manipur.
The rally is aimed to urge all concerned to understand the history of India and Manipur in the right perspective, to send a message to the Govt of India to stop its divide and rule policy and to urge all concerned to stop pursuing ethno-centric agendas and spread the message that hill and valley dwellers are from the same mother, Johnson said.
Dr Y Mani Khuman, co-convener of the Committee urged all concerned to stop demoralising the public by opposing the mass rally.
The rally is not against any community but for all ethnic communities of the State.
He further urged all concerned not to dispirit anyone by spreading myopic and parochial agendas.
"Let anyone who wish to partake in the rally do so freely," Mani Khuman said.
The rally will begin from THAU ground, Thangmeiband at 9 am on Feb 6.The rally will cover Khoyathong, Nagamapal, Waheng Leikai, Keishampat, Keishamthong, Yaiskul Police Lane, Thumbuthong, Konung Mamang, AIR Mamang, New Checkon, Hatta, Minuthong, MMTA road and Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
A public meeting will be held at Khuman Lampak.
