NISA stun NEROCA FC 7-6 to lift trophy

NISA, Thangmeiband handed a thrilling 7-6 defeat to NEROCA FC, Sangakpham via penalty in the final match of the 6th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial State Open Football Tournament, jointly organised by Group Centre CRPF and Imphal West District Football Association (IWDFA) under the aegis of All Manipur Football Association (AMFA), today at Main Stadium, Khuman Lampak.
The closing ceremony of the tournament was presided by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh as a presidium member.
Today's final match began with both sides on positive notes.
Ng Ronald's early goal in the 3rd minute helped NEROCA FC take an early 1-0 lead.

Minutes later, NISA overcame after L Milan, L Sanatomba and Kh Naoton found the targets in the 11th, 12th and 13th minute respectively.
The first half ended with NISA taking a comfortable 3-1 lead.
Soon after the breather, NEROCA FC pulled back a goal after Ng Ronald struck home his second in the 48th minute.
Two minutes later, NEROCA FC came back into the match with Imran Khan scoring the equaliser.
Thereafter, both teams failed to find the mark and the match ended 3-3 in normal time.
Penalty shoot-out was brought into the match to decide the match winner.
In the penalty shoot-out, NEROCA FC witnessed three goals through Jibon Singh, Shohal Shah and Imran Khan.
On the other side, N Jimmy, Shitaljit, O Prameshwor and Kh Naoton found their targets to help NISA clinch a 7-6 victory.
Tondonba and Kh Satish of NEROCA FC and L Sanatomba of NISA were yellow carded during the match.
Champions NISA were awarded a cash prize of Rs 75,000 while runners up team NEROCA FC were given a cash prize of Rs 50,000 .
The best player of the tournament was named K Phalguni Singh of NISA while the best goalkeeper title went to Vinessh of GC CRPF Sports Club.
With 6 goals each both Seikhohao Tuboi and NG Ronald of NEROCA FC bagged the highest scorer title.
The said individual winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 5000 each.
Ng Ronald of NEROCA FC also won the first scorer of the final match title with a cash prize of Rs 3000 .
