Many join BJP, plan extensive campaign

With the Lok Sabha election approaching closer and closer, many well known politicians have joined BJP and the party's State unit is planning extensive poll campaigns together with central leaders.
Meanwhile former Cabinet Minister Samuel Jendai Kamei, ex-MLA Purul Shepu Henry Paotei, Prof N Joykumar and Soso Shaiza, daughter-in-law of former Chief Minister Yangmaso Shaiza have joined the BJP.
Briefing media persons at their office today, BJP State unit president Th Chaoba welcomed the new entrants and announced that Soso Shaiza would be appointed party's spokesperson.
Saying that they have learnt about the Election Commission planning to hold the Lok Sabha election in five phases, Chaoba informed that election notification would be issued on February 27 and polling would begin from April 10 .
By the first week of May, India would see a new Government.
BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and national spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman would land at Imphal and campaign for the party on January 11 .
They would address public meetings at Kongba Bazar (Inner P/C) and Khangabok (Outer P/C).
The State BJP has made all necessary preparations to ensure that not less that 15,000 attend the election meetings.
On January 12, Nirmala Sitharaman would visit Moreh and inspect the controversial border fence.
She would also address another public meeting.
She would leave for Delhi on January after addressing a public meeting at Oinam, Chaoba said.
BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has already made a schedule of visiting the State on February 8 .
He would address a huge public meeting and for this, BJP State unit has been working hard to make sure that not less than 50,000 people attend Narendra's Modi election meeting.
N Joykumar said that he joined BJP taking due of the concerns shown by BJP leaders on the major issues of Manipur.
Former member of NPF Manipur unit advisory board Henry Paotei said that joining BJP is like home-coming.
He said that he joined the national political party lest his political career is ruined.
Samuel Jendai said that he joined BJP to uproot Congress which according to him has become synonymous with corruption.
