Anomalies in Spt Census

Imphal, January 09 2014:
RD & PR Minister Francis Ngajokpa has disclosed that the census anomalies in three sub-divisions of Senapati district namely Mao-Maram, Purul and Paomata have been resolved after a new survey was conducted recently.
Talking to media persons today, Francis further said that the new survey was held at these sub-divisions in June-July last year under the supervision of Registrar General of Census.
All anomalies detected in previous census reports were duly rectified by the authorities concerned.
The population approved by the Registrar General of Census with respect to these three sub-divisions is 2,85,404, out of which 1,63,380 in Mao-Maram, 68,123 in Paomata and 53,901 in Purul, the Minister noted.
There was intense pressure on the State Government from several organizations on this issue.
The anomalies have been rectified and new survey was conducted with the initiative of Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, Francis added.
