Following discovery of embezzlement of huge amount of funds without constructing any classroom of the Leimaram Makha LP School under Oinam AC, local MLA Radhakishore has today directed the Bishnupur District ZEO to investigate the matter and submit a report within five days.
The classrooms construction were to be taken up with funds from the Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources.
Talking to media persons today, Oinam AC MLA Radhakishore informed that the matter came to light after locals of the area made a formal complaint and further said that he personally came across report indicating completion of the construction on May 3.Informing that Leimaram Makha LP School was also included among the list of schools which had submitted completion certificate when the lists were furnished at the Plan Review meeting of Bishnupur District on May 3, he said person/s responsible for constructing the classrooms had also siphoned Rs 78,000.For more details pn the matter, the MLA along with mediapersons met the Bishnupur ZEO S Tikom and inquired on the matter.
However, no clear information could be extracted as the ZEO had stated that he had joined only in March this year and knew nothing on the matter.
The other staffs also declined details.
Expressing displeasure at lack of responses of the ZEO and his sub-ordinates, he informed the ZEO that all responsibilities would be fixed on him and the staffs as all works and programmes of Education Dept of any district cannot be executed sans knowledge of the concerned ZEO.
Radhakishore also warned of stringent action against all guilty individuals and further assured to provide all necessary help and cooperation in building the classrooms of the school within the shortest possible time.
Meanwhile, the MLA distributed Rs 20,000 each under the Sampurna Gramin Rojgar Yojana scheme for constructing kitchen shed at twenty school located under Oinam AC.
The amount were given only to the authorities of the school providing mid day meal to its students.
Radhakishore, who spoke on the occasion said that similar amounts will also be given to the other schools located under Oinam AC.
Even though the allotted amount for constructing each kitchen shed is Rs 30,000.only Rs 20,000 has been given as part of its first installment, said the MLA adding that the remaining amount will be given only after monitoring the work progress made by the different schools.
He also informed that a bonus award of Rs 5000 will be also given from his own pocket to the school which completes the construction at the shortest possible time.
