Teachers greeted on their day

Governor La Ganesan and Chief Minister N Biren Singh have extended greetings to the teaching fraternity on the occasion of Teachers' Day.
In his message, La Ganesan said that Teachers' Day is celebrated all over the country on 5th September every year to honour the teachers for their contributions toward the society and the country.
Saying that teachers play an important role in character building of the students and make them worthy citizens, the Governor continued that a strong education is the foundation of a progressive society and Manipur has a lot of expectations from its teaching community.
The Governor further stated that the celebration of Teachers' Day is also a tribute to Dr S Radhakrishnan, a scholar, statesman and respected teacher who shaped many minds and served India.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh, in his greeting, paid tributes to former President Dr S Radhakrishnan on the occasion of Teachers' Day.
N Biren said that the progress of a society depends much on the quality of its teachers.
"It is not uncommon to find students singling out that one teacher amongst many others in any school or college environment, as the most inspiring teacher.
They become role models for the young students to emulate," the Chief Minister said.
Saying that every teacher must strive to be a role model, the Chief Minister called upon the teaching community to face the challenges of their profession and face those challenges head on.
