Leishemba Sanajaoba highlights contribution of proponents of Metei faith

Rajya Sabha MP, Leishemba Sanajaoba has underscored the importance of encouraging those involved in performing the rituals connected with the Meitei faith.
The titular king of Manipur made the statement during the ceremony to mark the conclusion of the 3rd foundation day observance of Amai-Piba Apul Lup (APAL), Kangleipak held at the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board located next to 1st MR Ground in Khongbal Uphong Yumfam.
Speaking as the chief guest, Leishemba Sanajaoba said that people involved in various activities connected with the Meitei religion such as "pung yeiba, eshei sakpa, wari leeba, arangfam famba, chak thongba" among others have kept the traditions of Meitei ancestors alive making it possible for succeeding generations to follow and learn them.

Highlighting the role played by these individuals in keeping age-old traditions alive, he stressed on the importance of the present generation to encourage them and acknowledge their contribution.
Making a broad appeal to the public to ensure continued adherence to age-old traditions, he assured his continued help in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion as the functional president, Lourembam Rameshwar Meetei, MLA, Keirao AC called it fortunate that organisations such as APAL for undertaking various activities to safeguard the Meitei faith and traditions.
The event was also attended by Bidyapati Senjam, vice president, Sanamahi Temple Board; Moirangthem Bheigya, president, APAL Kangleipak and Konsam Jiten, representative, Manipur State Kala Akademi as guests of honour.
As a part of the event, recognition certificates and awards were distributed to notable personalities involved in pushing the Meitei faith forward.
