CM lauds Ngatan village for supporting War on Drugs

Senapati, September 04 2022:
Chief Minister N Biren Singh took to social media to acknowledge Ngatan Village in Senapati District for supporting the "War on Drugs" campaign.
The CM said,"Poppy Field Survey-A team of Senapati PS led by SI Ngaopuni Lanah and Forest Department went to Ngatan village and conducted the second poppy survey.
After travelling for 3 hours by gypsy from Senapati DHQ, the team reached the village and had a short interaction with the village elders regarding poppy cultivation in the village land.
The village authorities gave their assurance to cooperate with the Government's War on Drugs and submitted a copy of their general body meeting resolution not to cultivate poppy hereafter" Posting on his Facebook account, N Biren Singh added, "I salute the people of Ngatan Village" .
It may be mentioned that about 100 acres of poppy cultivation were destroyed last year in Ngatan village areas by the Senapati Police, Forest and villagers.
Earlier on 75th Independence Day celebration this year at Senapati DHQ, Senapati District Police SP.
Karthik Malladi publicly acknowledged the Makuilongdi village chairman with commendation and cash prize for promoting vegetable cultivation while others were involved in poppy cultivation.
