Imphal, November 28 2021:
In the continuing drive to detect non-locals without possession of ILP passes, Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) in coordination with Young Socio - Cultural Union, Wahengbam Leikai conducted verification of non-locals staying in rented accommodations in Wahengbam Leikai area on Sunday.
During the drive, around 100 non-locals staying in the locality were verified and 37 of them were found to be without ILP passes or with outdated passes while the remaining 63 were found to possess token for applying ILP pass.
Meanwhile, JCILPS co-convener (publicity) Wareppam Second informed that number of non-locals possessing token for processing ILP passes has increased since the past few days and this indicates that the department concerned has just resumed its task after a long gap.
While informing that the announcement made during Saturday's drive at Uripok Tourangbam Leikai has been changed, the JCILPS co-convener said that rent owners across the state should submit ILP related documents of non-local tenants staying in their rented accommodations within December 5 at JCILPS office and rent owners who fail to submit ILP documents of non-local tenants will have to close their rental accommodations.
