Ex-candidate extends support to Karam Shyam

Imphal, November 28 2021: Former NEIDP candidate in Langthabal assembly constituency Ningombam Nilakumar has rendered his support to BJP intending candidate and incumbent MLA Karam Shyam.

Nilakumar declared his support to Karam Shyam in a function held at his Khongnang Pheidekpi residence on Sunday wherein Karam Shyam said that it would be better to raise question on performance of former MLA O Joy, who was the representative of Langthabal AC people for seven terms rather than questioning performance of Karam Shyam in the past tenyears.

During the function jointly organised by Khongnang Pheidekpi Polling Station 20/2 and 20/3 Polling Committee, Karam Shyam said that love and coordination with the people is very much required in doing politics and time has come to uproot those trying to incite hatred in the name of politics.

According to Karam Shyam, he has been giving equal treatment to all the people in the constituency since joining politics and will continue to do in future too.

It would be unfair to discriminate the people merely basis on getting votes in election, he said, adding that he received only 280 votes out 1700 voters in Khongnang Pheidekpi in the last election but the polling station was provided equal amount with other polling stations from his MLA fund While stating that politicians should be able to think collectively and give equal treatment to all, Karam Shyam said that it was selfish of O Joy to obstruct holding public meeting at community hall he had constructed.

He also claimed that around 90 percent of community halls in Langthabal AC were constructed during his tenure and has no intention of raising objections in case anyone plans to utilise these community halls.

After 40 years of underdevelopment, people of Langthabal have seen development during the past ten years and hence it would be better to ask what development was done by O Joy in seven terms rather than asking what Karam Shyam had done for the constituency in the past ten years, he added.

While assuring of extending help to poor people as did since joining politics, Karam Shyam said that politics is not merely about constructing roads, bridges and drains but moulding people as well.

He also promised to make Langthabal one of the best assembly segments of the state particularly in economy between the year 2022 to 2027 and preparations for developing youth of the constituency as successful entrepreneurs has been made already.
