Imphal, July 07 2013:
With the Lok Sabha election knocking at the door, Opposition political parties in the State have yet again started discussing various poll strategies including bringing up common candidates both for the inner and outer Parliamentary Constituencies.
According to reports received by Hueiyen Lanpao, even though the Opposition political parties have given a pause to the discussion on upcoming Lok Sabha elections due to the 5th session of the 10th Manipur Legislative which took place for 25 days ending on July 4, they are ready to pick up the thread of the discussion from where they left.
The Opposition political parties conducted several rounds of meetings to discuss ways and means to defeat the Congress party prior to commencement of the Assembly session on June 19 last.
With the Assembly session over, a meeting will be held on July 11 at 3 pm at Hotel Imphal to resume discussion and work out further course of action for defeating Congress party in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, reports said.
Reports further informed that during the course of the meeting slated to be held on July 11, all the Opposition political parties are likely to bring out their own preferred candidates for the election.
However, the matter will be seriously discussed and common candidates for the Inner and Outer Parliamentary Constituencies will be finalized.
It is believed that a positive result will come out of the meeting.
Meanwhile, the Congress MLAs have also started giving advice and suggestions to the unit level of their respective constituencies.
