United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) on Thursday denied the allegation made in some local news paper.
In a press statement issued by UKLF General Secretary David Haokip, denied the allegation that UKLF interfered in the recently held Aimol Tribe Union election saying it is a baseless allegation.
David said that since the last some months, with the initiatives and influence of some vested interest persons, a section of the Aimol people are hell-bent on tarnishing the good image of the UKLF which is very unfortunate.
It is like the old dictum, biting the hands that feed.
UKLF considered Aimol tribe as Aimol so that larger communities around may take good care of them as a minority tribe.
But the efforts of certain section of Aimol people in trying to sell away their tribe and identity is a distressing thing, David said.
Aimol people should not forget that UKLF is an armed organization striving towards reunification of the Kukis and we expect them to respect this in future before things get out of hands and informed to them not to drag in the name of the organization in their internal petty issues in future.
The people of Aimol villages due to their displeasure upon the functioning of former ATSUM president S Muanthuireng Aimol held a meeting and elected their choice leader at their free will and UKLF has nothing to do with it.
UKLF considered Aimol tribe as distinct minority tribe and had shown utmost love and care all these years.
David further said that UKLF have donated a gypsy to the Tribe Union, community hall and even peace returned land called Natum Chao to them which they have already sold out.
All these have been done to show that we have great affection and care the Aimol people as inseparable brethren minority group, David added.
