Awareness campaign begins

CPI Manipur State Council kick-started a weeklong awareness campaign at Irawat Bhawan today with the aim of spreading awareness on various issues of the State like the Framework Agreement, boundary issues, failure of people to get NFSA rice, decrease in the funds for MGNREGS, the recent MU crisis, savingLoktaklakeandtheimpactofLoktak Project, as well as issues of the country like the Rafale deal issue and the recent hiatus at CBI.
Speaking at the launch event, CPI Manipur State Council State Secretary L Sotinkumar said that the campaign which will be carried out till November 7, will spread awareness about seven pressing issues of the State to the people at their doorsteps.
He explained that the campaign will be carried out at Imphal City, Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal and Kakching by a group of around 100 individuals for each area concerned each, consisting of youths, volunteers and party workers.
He added that a four wheeler campaign will be carried out and necessary preparations have been made for distributing leaflets as well.
Advisor of All Manipur Loumi Lup AC Sharma, Assistant Secretary (org) MSC, CPI, M Joykumar, Secretarial Member, MSC, CPI, N Singajit, Asst Secretary Administration, MSC, CPI, Kh Surchand and president of All Manipur Nupi Marup, M Sakhi were also present at the event.
