More projects in Saikul inspected

MLA from Saikul constituency Yamthong Haokip on Monday inspected more construction projects being pursued in his constituency.
Yamthong this morning went to the remote village of Island that falls under Saikul constituency in Sadar Hills of Senapati district, Manipur and inspected the Block Development Office (BDO) building and another bank building, both now under construction.
The Island village will be converted into a block level soon after the completion of the new BDO building, Yamthong Haokip told Newmai News Network.
He said construction of the BDO building was started on January 24 this year and the target has been set to finish it by last week of the current month and its estimated cost is Rs 92, 51, 011 .
Another office building of a bank at the estimated cost of Rs 55, 43, 127 is now under construction near the BDO building, he said and disclosed that a total amount of Rs 77, 19, 950 will be spent on leveling works on the sites for all the construction projects to be taken up in the area under PMGYS.
Chief Minister O Ibobi will inaugurate the two buildings, he said and further informed that more construction projects in the area like buildings of police out- post and staff quarters, kitchen, store and dining rooms for BDO and security personnel will also be taken up in the current year.
During the trip, Yamthong also attended the '1st Shanao Long Day, 2013 celebration function held at Irong village in the constituency.
The MLA was accorded a warm welcome by the Irong villagers.
A cultural programme was organized as part of the celebration.
Speaking on the occasion, Yamthong assured that a community hall for Irong village will be constructed within this year.
