Former VVF personnel of Churachandpur have today decried the action of its State leaders who they accused of deducting 35 percent of the gratuity the Government has granted, almost ten years after they approached the Court for compensation, following their abrupt laid off in the early 90s.A statement of the district's former VVF alleged that one LR Maki, President All Manipur Ex-VVF Association has ignored the district association while distributing the money meant for them.
'He has no right to deduct our gratuity which the Government has paid in return for our great voluntary services to the motherland during our youthful days,' said a statement issued by the Ex-VVFs, Ccpur.
The association said some 5000 personnel have contributed Rs 300 each back in 1993-94 and there is no reason to make any deduction now.
The exercise is meant only for personal gains and Maki should be ashamed of his illegal deed, it added.
