Red Shield fetes mothers

Imphal, May 10 2014 :
On the eve of the Mothers' Day (May 11), Red Shield Division today felicitated over 400 mothers coming from Bishnupur, Senapati, Churachandpur and Tamenglong districts.
The felicitation programme was held at 6/8 Gorkha Rifles headquarters, Bishnupur under the aegis of Loktak Brigade.
The programme was organised as a tribute to Manipuri mothers for their devotion, compassion, magnanimity, grace
and patience.
Loktak Brigade Cdr Brig Sanjeev Chauhan was also present at the function.
The programme featured pipe band display by 6 AR, khukri dance with simulated spinning and chopping movements as done during close quarter combat by the Gorkhas, live orchestra performance and a round of tambola.

Later prizes of the tambola game were distributed to winners by Brig Sanjeev.
This was followed by a grand feast.
A free medical camp was also organised as a part of the programme.
Many speakers who addressed the gathering elaborated on mothers' compassion, devotion and sacrifice.
They also conveyed gratitude to officers and jawans of the Red Shield Division.
