A complaint against the MPP candidate from the Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency, Th Chaoba and senior legislature O Joy of the same party has been lodged to the Election Commission of India by the CPI state council today alleging that their statements to election meeting against its candidate Dr M Nara amount to violent the code of conduct of the election.
Regarding the submission of the complaint to the visiting Election Commissioner S Y Quraishi, CPI state council secretary L Iboyaima, in a press conference held at Irawat Bhavan today, said during an election rally on April 8 last at Bishnupur, MPP candidate Chaoba wrongly said that Nara signed as witness in a representation submitted by MP T Meinya to the Delimitation Commission of India demanding inclusion of some part of Bishnupur district in the Outer seat and inclusion of the seven constituencies of Thoubal district to the Inner seat.
In another election rally meeting held at the resident of MPP MLA RK Anand on the same, O joy had said Nara as a man dominated by woman.
All the said statement given by the MPP leaders were against the code of conduct of the election currently in force in connection with the ensuing elections to the 15 Lok Sabha, he added.
He also informed the reporters that CPI has urged the visiting Election Commissioner to making the forth coming elections free and fair elections.
On the other hand, the election manifesto of the CPI will be released on April 11 at 1 pm at CPI office at Irawat Bhavan.
