Imphal, April 09 2009:
After winning its last match played today the Southern Sporting Union (SSU) is leading the 3rd Manipur State League which is organised by the All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) as part of the football developemnt programme of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), with 48 points.
The Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) is in the second place with 48 points.
While defending champion North Imphal Sports Association (NISA) has climbed down in the third place with 47 points and TRUGPU in the fourth with 45 points.
There has been only one last play left to decide the winner of the ongoing 3rd Manipur State League.
The last match will be played between defending champion NISA and TRUGPU on April 12 next.
If NISA win the match then it will be NISA holding the champion's title.
On the other hand, if TRUGPU wins or the match concluded draw, SSU will be the next champion of the 3rd Manipur State League.
The first match today was played between TRAU and PYC at Khuman Lampak Practice ground as the home ground of TRAU.
The match concluded draw with score positions for both teams 2-2 .
Md Riyas Khan and Md Shahidur Rahaman scored the two goals of PYC in the 7th and 50nth minute of the match.
On the other hand the two goals of TRAU were scored by Kh Somananda and P Ajitkumar in the 36th and 41st minute of the match.
Kh Samananda of TRAU was issued a yellow card for his unsporting behaviour during the match.
The second match today was played between AMOFA, Moirang and ESU, Singjamei at Mini Stadium, Bishnupur as the home ground of AMOFA.
The match was won by AMOFA after defeating ESU 2-1 .
The first goal of the match was scored in the 9th minute of the match by E Romen of AMOFA.
Lalrintlvanga of AMOFA scored his team's second goal in the 42nd minute of the match.
On the other hand the only goal of ESU was scored in the 70th minute of the match by its player K Rocky.
H Arun of AMOFA and S He-Man of ESU were issued a red card each and expelled from the match due to their unsporting rude behaviour during the progress of the match.
The third match today was played between NEROCA and USA at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium as the home ground of USA.
NEROCA won the match after defeating USA 3-0 .
L nabachandra of NEROCA scored two goals against USA in the 47th and 79th minute of the match.
Meanwhile T Dhiren of NEROCA also scored a goal against USA in the 57th minute of the
match.
SSU dumped YWC 7-0 in the fourth match which was played at Khuman Lampak Practice ground as the home ground of SSU.
L Tiken of SSU scored three goals against YWC in the 7th, 22nd and 74th minute of the match.
E Abocha scored two goals in the 19th and 29th minute of the match.
Y Sachinanda and Gaichungam Kamson also scored one goal each in the 1st and 6th minute of the match.
MPSC dumped NLYC 12-0 in the fifth match, played at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium as the home ground of NLYC.
N Deshkumar scored four goals against NLYC in the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 30th minute of the match.
Th Rohen and Ksh Kanta scored three goals each in the 14th, 29th, 67th and 21st, 61st and 90+2nd minute.
K Somochandra and Md Ziqul Haque also scored one goal each in the 9th and 60th minute of the match.
Jenendra, Somorendro of MPSC and Ginsuanding of NLYC were issued a yellow card each for their unsporting behaviour during the match.
The last match of the league will be played between defending champion NISA and TRUGPU on April 12 next at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium at 1 pm in the afternoon.
