Acting on specific reports about the unauthorised concentration of around 25-30 NSCN-K cadres in Songsamong village near Longkhim under Tuensang district of Nagaland on Wednesday the Assam Rifles sources revealed that the patrol party scanned the area and confirmed the presence of cadres in uniform with weapons and additional Assam Rifles forces were immediately mobilised in conjunction with civil administration, police and village authorities to generate pressure on factions for forthwith vacation of Songsamong village.
They conveyed message of stringent actions in case the group failed to clear the unauthorised concentration.
Later in the afternoon the village authorities confirmed that cadres were in the process of moving out and further pressure by Assam Rifles forces surrounding the area confirmed complete vacation of the village by NSCN-K cadres moving out towards their designated camp of Surumi thereby restoring peace and tranquility of the region.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles have cautioned factions once again to adhere by agreed Cease Fire Ground Rules and no violations will be tolerated under any circumstances.
"It is advised that factions desist themselves from moving our of designated camps in uniforms and weapons trying to vitiate peace of civilian inhabited areas which will attract stringent measures from security forces", it added.
