Medical Representatives convention held

The 2nd Medical Representatives Convention was held at Indian Medical Association (IMA) conference hall, Lamphelpat, under the aegis of Centre of Medical and Sales Representatives Union (CRU).
Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Yumnam Khemchand, CRU Imphal president Ningombam Dilipkumar, RIMS Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Ch Arunkumar, JNIMS MS Dr L Ranabir, All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists NE Region joint secretary Kangjam Sagar Meitei, social activist Potsangbam Sonamani, Centre of Indian Trade Unions Manipur secretary Ksh Santa, CRU NE Region general secretary Rahul Purkayastha and Manipur Chemists and Druggists Association president RK Rakesh attended the event as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Speaking at the event, CRU Imphal general secretary Oinam Prabin said that CRU-is affiliated to Federation of Medical Representatives and Sales Association of India and Centre of Indian Trade Unions at the North East level.
There are currently 320 members under CRU and the union is working tirelessly to promote the products of various pharmaceutical companies through doctors and registered medical practitioners.
He claimed that CRU was established with the aim of clearing the negative perception among the people that MRs lack professional ethics, as well as for the welfare of the MRs.Necessary work is underway regarding the formation of a code of conduct for CRU Imphal, he added.
He continued that many MRs, through CRU, are also working with numerous CSOs for the benefit of the people.
As a part of the event, the CRU general secretary and treasurer presented the yearly reports and new members of the union were elected as well.
