Ramp up vaccination drive: Dr S Manaoton

Intending candidate for the upcoming Assembly election from Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC Dr Soraisham Manaoton has urged the State Government to ramp up vaccination drive against COVID-19 to arrest the spread of coronavirus.
Manaoton is a secretary of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC).
While distributing edibles to 280 Muslim families in the Constituency, Dr Manaoton further appealed to the Government to intensify the contact tracing of the Covid positive people to limit the virus spread.
The MPCC secretary also greeted the Muslim brethren a Happy Eid-ul-Fitr.
Saying that the vaccination drive being carried out in the State is very slow, he urged the Government and authorities concerned to step up the inoculation drive and start vaccinating people between 18 to 44 years at the earliest possible.
"Let's work together to defeat this second wave of COVID-19", he added.
Pointing out that the number of Covid positive cases and fatalities in the State is alarming, Manaoton appealed all to adhere to the SOPs for COVID-19 laid by the Government experts to avert mote adversity.
Saying that certain people flouting the SOPs for COVID-19 are making all the efforts to contain the virus bootless, Manaoton urged the Government to fix the loopholes in the Covid preventive measures.
He also added that the Government alone cannot fight the pandemic and this will need active cooperation from the public in the fight against the pandemic which has been ravaging the state as well as the country very fast during the last of couple of months.
We all should do our bit to win this fight against the pandemic.
