Essay, painting competition held in Chandel

Chandel, October 22 2015:
As part of the National Total Sanitation Campaign 2015 in Chandel, essay, painting competition and hand washing demonstration was held at Koinonia Training School, Hnahringkhu in Chandel district on Thursday.
A total of 150 students from Class III to X from seven schools of the district participated in the event which was organised by PHED Chandel Division in collaboration with Chandel District Private School Teachers' Association.
MDC of 13 Vomku DCC, Ts Kanlun Anal graced the occasion as the chief guest while Section Officer of PHED Chandel Division BD Jameson who is also the coordinator of National Sanitation Campaign along with staffs of the seven participating schools supervised the competition.

While addressing the assembly of students in hand washing demonstration, MDC Kanlun advocated for extending financial assistance towards construction of separate toilets for school boys and girls.
Principal of Koinonia Training school, Rev RD Joykumar while speaking on the occasion highlighted the infrastructural grievances besetting the private school authorities who according to him were more productive than those of the Government owned schools.
He appealed the PHED to consider for possible ways so as to give private schools the same facilities given to the Government schools.
Section Officer BD James in his speech acknowledged the contribution made by the private schools in the field of education.
He expressed satisfaction over the keen interest taken up by private schools in making all Government programmes successful.
He also assured that he would definitely take up the issues for consideration with his superiors.
