Imphal, April 17 2022:
While informing that all preparations have been made for conduct of the 3rd Semester examination of Dhanamanjuri University (DMU); DMU VC N Rajmuhon has stated that the examination would be held in offline mode as there will be problems in conducting the same in assignment mode.
Addressing a press meet held at the VC's office on Sunday, afternoon, Rajmuhon said that the UGC secretary has already issued an examination order and as the Covid-19 pandemic is subsiding in the state, steps were taken up to hold the 3rd Semester examination in physical mode.
Although there is nothing wrong with the requests of the students for holding the examination in assignment mode, there is concern whether their degrees would be valid with respect to UGC regulations, if it is held in assignment mode.
DMU took 12 years to get to the university level.
If the varsity were to hold the examination is assignment mode in violation of UGC regulations, there could be problems in the upgrade of the varsity in the future.
Furthermore, if the examinations were not successfully conducted by April 30, it could affect the schedule for 4tn Semester examination.
The examination for 4th Semester students, however, will be held in offline mode, he stated.
Thus, Rajmuhon appealed to the parents/guardians to prevail upon the students to appear for the 3rd Semester examination, which is set to begin from April 20.The questions will be based only on the syllabus covered so far, he added.
