3rd Plenary Session of WMC held

World Meetei Council (WMC) on Sunday held its 3rd Plenary Session 2022, Delhi at Western Court, Janpath Road, New Delhi.
The programme held under the theme 'Reawakening our Spirit of Oneness' was attended by WMC Central Executive Committee president Heignijam Nabashyam, vice presidents Y Dhan Singh, Dr KN Chand, Delhi Unit president Dr Nongmaithem Manichandra Singh, Manipur State Unit's U Kunjo Singh, Nagaland Unit general secretary S Sanjoy Khaba, Maharashtra Unit's Pritam Konsam, Assam Unit general secretary I Hari Singha and Dr Nimai Luwang, and JNU Prof Bimol Akoikam as the presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr KN Chand stressed on the urgency of ensuring ST status for Meetei and working earnestly till the demand is fulfilled.
On the other hand, WMC Central Executive Committee general secretary Yambem Arun gave a detailed presentation on now the Council was formed and the work it has taken up so far along with its future endeavours.
As a part of the programme, WMC conferred Lifetime Achievement Award to Moirangthem Nilamadhop of Lamagram, Cachar, Assam and weightlifter N Kunjarani.
A cultural programme was also showcased to mark the event.
