Two new cases detected, seven recover

Imphal, April 21 2022:
The state on Thursday reported only two new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 251 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 0.80 per cent positivity rate against 0.67 per cent reported on Wednesday.
No death cases were reported in the last 24 hours and the toll stands at 2120 .
Till date, the virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people of which 61 had received second dose of Covid vaccine.
In the last 24 hours, seven patients were discharged from home isolation (5) and JNIMS (2) .
Number of active cases came down to 29 out of which 13 (44.83 per cent) are in home isolation.
So far, the state has recorded 11,417 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 111 new positive cases and zero fatality.
According to official reports, the two fresh cases (1 male & 1 female) are from among the general population and they are from Bishnupur and Thoubal districts.
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,37,205 (general population - 1,32,191 and CAPF personnel - 5,014).Number of recovered cases is 1,35,056 (general population - 1,30,049 and CAPF personnel - 5,007) and number of active cases is 29 (general p) .
The recovery rate is 98.43 per cent.
A total of 55 D type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 2490 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday taking the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 15,51,747, out of which 11,95,544 had received second dose and 73,523 had taken precautionary dose.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,743), Imphal East (30,442), Thoubal (10,159), Churachandpur (11,054), Kangpokpi (3131), Tamenglong (3478), Bishnupur (9838), Senapati (2493), Ukhrul (3275), Kakching (6896), Chandel (2725), Noney (1158), Tengnoupal (1201), Jiribam (1111), Kamjong (1036) and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (704), Imphal East (511), Thoubal (189), Churachandpur (168), Kangpokpi (67), Tamenglong (17), Bishnupur (205), Senapati (12), Ukhrul (51), Kakching (122), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (15), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,217 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,654 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,18,120 tests per million population against the national average of 5,93,411 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate came down to 8.53 per cent.
