Toilet, retaining wall inaugurated

Ukhrul, July 26 2018:
Ukhrul Autonomous District Council (UADC) Chairman Dickson Kumrah today inaugurated a toilet and a retaining wall constructed at Ukhrul District Teachers Welfare Association (UDTWA), Phungreitang Ukhrul.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at the conference hall of UDTWA, Dickson urged the teaching community to maintain a yearly | target plan to grow and enhance academic performances of students.
CEO, ADC Ukhrul Polly Makan dwelt on the roles and responsibilities of teachers in showing the right paths to students.
The responsibilities of a teacher can never be replaced by modern technology or electronic gadgets like computers or robots.
Children/students should be taught to be innovative, she said.
Teachers should educate children on moral ethics - kindness, love discipline, humanity etc, she added.
Dickson unveiled the plaque in presence of dignitaries at the UDTWA conference hall.
The toilet and the retaining wall were constructed under 14 finance developmental fund of the State, said president of UDTWA Wungnaoshang.
DI, P Hungyo also spoke at the event on many issues.
The inauguration programme was attended by EMs, Councillors, DIs, AIs, Headmaster, Headmistress and teachers of Ukhrul.
UDTWA also observed a silent prayer to pay respect to one of their colleagues who expired yesterday.
