Government planning to implement CMHT in private hospitals as well: Jayantakumar

Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar has said that the State Government is planning to extend the benefits of Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang to private hospitals of the State.
He also informed that CMHT will be increased upto Rs 5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat Yojana from August this year.
Speaking to media persons at his office today, the Minister said that CMHT was approved by a Cabinet meeting on October 11 last year and is one of the important components of the "Khungang Chatse: Go to the Village' mission which is being taken up by the Government to provide benefits of various schemes to the people.
The scheme was launched on January 21 this year and began to be implemented at RIMS, JNIMS, district hospitals, urban health centres, sub divisional hospitals and primary health centres etc.
Appreciating the health officials and staff for successful implementation of the CMHT scheme, the Minister said that so far 79,000 CMHT cards have been distributed and issuance of new cards is still under progress.
CMHT has also been awarded most efficiently run public health scheme, he added.
The scheme at present provides cover up to Rs 2 lakh per eligible family identified from the Socio Economic Caste Census (SECC) in the treatment of seven critical identified critical ailments - cardiovascular diseases, kidney ailments, neurological conditions, liver ailments, cancer, neo-natal diseases and burns per year.
He added that the scheme aims to uplift the quality of health care of the poor and needy people of the State and appealed to the public to cooperate with the Government in its new initiatives for a better society.
Jayantakumar also informed that he met representatives from around 10 private hospitals of the State for extension of CMHT to the said hospitals as well.
As soon as an agreement is reached on various areas like health package, the benefits of the said scheme will soon be available at private hospitals as well, the Minister assured.
Jayantakumar also informed that the State Government is planning to launch Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Manipur within August 15 .
On the other hand, Director Health Services Manipur K Rajo Singh said that the State Government has allocated Rs 20 crore in the budget for the year 2018-19.Under the scheme, 2229 beneficiaries have been treated free of cost and discharged while 559 beneficiaries are currently undergoing treatment at Government hospitals.
