Imphal, July 26 2018:
A general body meeting of All Manipur Bulk LPG Transporters Association held today has resolved to launch an indefinite non cooperation on LPG transportation operations from tomorrow.
A press release issued by the secretary of the association today informed that during the non cooperation strike, none of the LPG tanker trucks will join either empty or loaded convoy and none of the trucks will be loaded or unloaded.
It explained that the main reason the association has decided to launch the non cooperation strike is due to the failure of IOCL to accommodate all the tanker trucks which participated in the recently floated tender for bulk LPG transportation to Sekmai Bottling Plant.
It claimed that inspite of multiple request from the association as well as letters from CAF&PD, Manipur, IOCL has not taken up any positive steps to accommodate all the tanker trucks which participated in the tender.
The present operating transporters are apprehensive whether their LPG trucks will still be in operation after the finalisation of the tender, it conveyed and urged the Government as well as the IOCL to look into the matter at the earliest.
Pointing out that the tender was participated by 100 bidders with 276 tanker trucks, the association urged IOCL to resolve the issue at the earliest by accommodating all the 276 trucks for Sekmai Bottling Plant.
