Imphal, June 26 2015 :
All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) has demanded the State Government to formulate a policy to ensure a consistent and single system for all private schools in Manipur on Friday.
AMSU wants all private educational institutes in the State to be run in a single system with regard to fee, admission, transportation, academic calendar and syllabus, AMSU president Sanabam Subaschandra told reporters at the union office.
He demanded that transparency must be maintained in the admission process and fee structure by every school by providing details on the amount.
All private schools need to introduce a single academic calendar besides holding periodic and final examinations on same dates, Subhaschandra suggested.
Talking about school uniform, the AMSU leader stated that forcing students to wear different school uniforms has created a huge burden especially to the poor section and demanded complete elimination of this system.
He suggested that all school service vehicles should indicate names of their respective schools and should be of a single colour.
It will be a right move for the Government to ban all exploitive schools, he demanded and said the teaching job is never easy.
Subhaschandra demanded that all private schools implement rules for teacher recruitment.
He also said that hostels for these schools must be kept inside the school campuses only.
Proper infrastructure for these educational institutes, apart from playground, computer and science labs should also be provided, he further demanded.
