Expensive goods sent by post stolen

Goods worth Rs.15,000 have been stolen from a parcel sent from Bangalore to Imphal by post.
The parcel was sent by one Soibam Poireinganba from Bangalore to his father Soibam Anilkumar of Sega Road Konjeng Hajari Leikai.
Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao, the parcel owner Anilkumar said that he went to collect the parcel from Imphal Head Post Office today.
The total weight of the parcel sent by his son was 11.55 kg.
It contained branded clothes, shoes, cosmetics and other household items.
However, the parcel weighed only 6.32 kg when collected from the post office.
He reported the matter to the post-office staffs and opened the parcel in their presence.
Clothes, shoes and other items worth about Rs.15,000 were found missing from the parcel, Anilkumar said.
The Director of Imphal Post Office has sought 10 days' period for conducting an inquiry into the matter, he added.
