Imphal, December 03 2013:
While appreciating Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh's constructive step to set up a Manipuri Pony Sanctuary at Heingang, S Jayanta Singh, Secretary of Heingang Development Congress Co-ordinating Committee expressed concern that the Government's plan might have an adverse impact on agricultural lands.
Jayanta Singh stated in a press release today that the project will ensure survival of one of the endangered species and therefore suggested that the plan be implemented on non-agricultural land so that both the pony and the farmers may benefit from the plan.
