TPR falls below 3 per cent, one dies

The daily test positivity rate fell below 3 per cent after six and half months on Thursday as government bulletins reported 53 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 1829 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 2.90 per cent against Wednesday's 3.55 per cent.
During the second wave of the pandemic, the daily test positivity rate crossed 3 per cent for the first time on April 13 .
The positivity rate on April 12 this year was 1.97 per cent.
Thursday also reported one death case.
The victim, who had not received Covid vaccine, was a resident of Imphal East district.
With this, the cumulative death toll from Covid-19 has reached 1918 .
Out of the 16 districts, eight reported Covid cases on Thursday with Imphal West recording the highest cases at 29.In terms of positivity rate, Chandel district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 7.7 per cent while Tamenglong district recorded lowest positivity rate at 0.8 per cent.
Churachandpur, Jiribam, Kamjong, Kangpokpi, Noney, Pherzawl, Senapati and Tengnoupal districts did not report any new positive cases.
The active caseload came down to 842 on Thursday out of which 79 (9.38 per cent) are in home isolation, 233 (27.67 per cent) in CCCs, and 200 (23.75 per cent) in hospitals while whereabouts of 330 patients (39.19 per cent) are not known as all the CHICs have been shut down.
Among the hospitalised patients, 60 are admitted to ICU/HDU wards, 39 are on oxygen support and 20 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support from JNIMS even though it has 98 patients.
On the other hand, there is one patient on oxygen support in one of the CCCs.
There is no updated information regarding bed availability but as of Wednesday evening, 683 beds including 118 ICU/HDU beds were available in different hospitals, 2744 in Covid Care Centres and 445 beds (31 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 94,126 positive cases and 1544 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has recorded 2942 new cases and 63 fatalities out of which 475 new cases and 13 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 53 new positive cases included 52 civilians (30 male & 22 female) and one jawan of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) and their samples were detected at RIMS (4), JNIMS (9) and other testing centres (40).The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (15), Imphal West (28), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (2), Chandel (2) and Tamenglong (1).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 54 patients were discharged from home isolation (11), RIMS (7), JNIMS (10) and CCCs (26) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,23,526 (general population - 1,19,199 and CAPF personnel - 4,327).Number of recovered cases is 1,20,766 (general population - 1,16,459 and CAPF personnel - 4,307) and number of active cases is 842 (general population - 827 and CAPF personnel - 15).The recovery rate is 97.77 per cent.
A total of 501 D-type and 19 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
As many as 11,108 vaccine doses were administered on Wednesday which took the cumulative number of vatcinated persons to 12,45,284 including 6,81,886 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,004), Imphal East (27,346), Thoubal (9434), Churachandpur (10,131), Kangpokpi (2777), Tamenglong (3274), Bishnupur (9147), Senapati (2225), Ukhrul (2935), Kakching (6396), Chandel (2329), Noney (1067), Tengnoupal (1054), Jiribam (1021), Kamjong (922) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (639), Imphal East (456), Thoubal (173), Churachandpur (160), Kangpokpi (61), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (190), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (39), Kakching (111), Chandel (37), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0).Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,809 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,495 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,38,962 tests per million population against the national average of 4,32,433 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1829 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 2.90 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 9.07 per cent.
