DC seeks support to revive Dist & Session Courts

Tamenglong district DC K Panmei today appealed to the people of the district to support the process to revive the District and Session Court, Tamenglong.
Speaking in a press meet, Panmei said that the Session Court in Tamenglong had stopped functioning since 1994 due to lack of proper infrastructure and security.
Since the court stopped functioning, people of the district have faced many inconveniences in legal matters, he said while asking for their support in reviving the court.
Guwahati High Court Chief Justice, Madan B Lokkar and Chief Judicial Magistrate, Tamenglong Tara Devi inspected the old building of the court on April 22 and regretted the dilapidated condition of the building.
They also visited the new buildings of Tamenglong Mini Secretariat and expressed desire to use some rooms in the building to begin legal works on a temporary basis.
The DC on behalf of the district administration of Tamenglong district warmly welcomed the state visit of Joint Secretary (Home) Shambhu Singh.
