JAC against abducting S Tongkhohao mate dissolved, agitations suspended

The Joint Action Committee formed against abducting S.Tongkhohao Mate, a class IX student of Ideal High School Pallel by Police Commando personnel was dissolved and proposed agitations of the JAC were suspended today.
While informing this to media persons, Khaineo Lupho, Chairman of the JAC said that the Committee, which was formed after a team of Police Commando Personnel abducted S Tongkhohao Mate, an innocent student from his uncle house at Tuinom Village near Pallel on the fateful evening of November 23, was dissolved and proposed agitations were also suspended as most of the demands of the JAC were fulfilled by the government.
Lupho further said that after the incident, the JAC submitted a memorandum and put up some charter of demands to the representative of State Government led by IFCD Minister Ngamthang Haokip.
And following an understanding between the JAC and Government representative, the indefinite bandh was suspended temporarily from November 30 .
While disclosing the terms and conditions of their understanding with the Government, Lupho maintained that the abducted innocent student was released unconditionally and medical expenses of the injured persons due to the unwanted action of the Police Commando personnel were borne by the State Government.
Moreover, Departmental enquiry is constituted to punish the erring police personnel involved in abducting and torturing the innocent student.
And according to the agreement, Police Commando personnel should immediately stop frisking and routine checking of vehicles along Imphal-Moreh road at Thamlapokpi area and in front of their gate.
However, the police commando personnel can frisk and check any vehicle at Pallel Police Gate where Police, Custom Preventive Force, Excise and Forest Personnel check vehicles plying along Imphal- Moreh road, said the JAC Chairman.
Lupho further said that as per the understanding, the Police Commando personnel should not venture into the surrounding villages without prior information of concerned village chiefs or village authority.
