Imphal, September 25 2015 :
Pomp and gaiety marked the 37th anniversary of People's Liberation Army (PLA), the armed wing of banned Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) on Friday.
The celebration was held at PLA general headquarters, tactical command, strategic command, 252 mobile battalion and several other units, departments and stations where respect was paid to the outfit's flag and saluted those who had died martyred for the cause of the motherland in the tortuous course of the revolutionary movement, said RPF secretary publicity Roben Khuman in a statement.
PLA's red stars studded festoons were put up across Manipur by the outfits' division numbers 2,4,8 and 10 under the party's central bureau along with the people to mark the day.
RPF president Irengbam Chaoren extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of PLA's anniversary, the statement said.
In his message, Chaoren expressed serious concern over the hostilities between the ethnic communities allegedly fomented by India and made a fervent appeal to all groups to explore the opportunity to find out an endurable way to uphold the co-existence under a common political system.
May the message given on the occasion of the anniversary of PLA bring oneness among all primordial kinship groups of the land to make supreme sacrifices for Manipur and its people and live together in peace and harmony, the RPF statement added.
