The diplomats of the south east Asian countries have left Imphal for Mizoram today after having had surveyed the trade potential in the border towm Moreh.
The Asian diplomats will take the first hand knowledge of feasibility of trade and commerce in Mizoram.
The Ambassadors and High Commissioners of the South East Asian countries were in Manipur to survey whether a trade and commerce between India and these Asian nations through the border town Moreh is feasible.
Meanwhile, All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO), an influential civil body of the state has submitted to the ASEAN diplomats.
The AMUCO urged the diplomats to make Manipur as the gateway to the South East Asian countries.
AMUCO memorandum also said that the people of Manipur want to see the completion of international airport and railway line in Manipur.
AMUCO then said that the people of Manipur would not be happy to shift to any other North Eastern state regarding the ongoing construct of a trilateral highway connecting Moreh town to Mae Sot in Thailand through Bagan in Myanmar.
AMUCO also mention many nitty gritties pertaining to the South East Asian nations' trade and commerce.
