With defaulters posing a great hindrance to the functioning of the State Bank of India, especially Govt officials, a special meeting of the DDOs was held today at the SBI office, Paona bazar branch to discuss the non-recovery of loans granted to the employees of the State Govt.A statement issued by the Chief Manager of the bank said that the extent of default has become so high that the bank authorities are even mulling over the idea of discontinuing the loan system in the State.
More than 90 DDOs of different Govt Departments, after minutely discussing the issue, expressed their willingness to extend their co-operation to the bank whole heartedly in recovering the loans from the Government employees.
The meeting was presided by RK Bokotoky, AGM, Region-V, RBO Shillong.
Amongst others Basab Shyam CM SBI, Paona Bazar branch, BB Das CM, Secretariat branch, Gautam Sengupta, AGM, Imphal branch, S Goswami, CM Imphal branch, Bhupen Deka CM (Rural), RegionV RBO, Shillong and ZA Hazarikar, Manager (NPA), Region-V, A Altias Manager (PBD), Paona bazar were present in the meeting.
