Kwakta Exhibition inspires people, draws large crowd

"This exhibition is very useful to the youngster of this locality and will develop the mentality of the youth, especially the students' community", said L Kunjeshwor, a visitor from Samurou, who visited the five-day long photo exhibition at Kwakta Community Hall in Bishnupur District.
The exhibition that kick-off from August 9 with impressive gathering will ends on August 13 .
For localities such as Kwakta, which is more known for its backwardness, the collection of 130-odd photographs from the north east opens new vistas to learn more about the region.
"The photos are knowledgeable and educative", said Md Zeair Khan, a Class IX grader of INA Memorial High School.
Giving impetus to the photo exhibition, Habibur Rehman, Headmaster of Kwakta Govt Jr High School expressed confidence that the collection of different types of photos will surely enable the visitors to know more about the north eastern region of India.
Adding more teeth to the exhibition, Md Rashid Ali Khan from Kwakta Bazar hopes that the collection of photos which are being displayed in the exhibition will serves as a medium to infuse the spirit of communal harmony and peace in the region.
A large number of enthusiastic visitors thronged the exhibition hall every day.
Earlier, gracing the exhibition, Lt Col JBS Rathi, 2nd in Command, 5/9 Gorkha Rifles said that this type of photo exhibition serves as a good platform to disseminate information about the various developmental schemes undertaken by the Government of India in the north east.
Lt Col Rathi also exhorted the public to support the Government so that more developmental projects could see the light of the day.
Commenting on the exhibition, the Army officer, who begins his second innings in Manipur early this month, opines that this type of "initiatives will expose our brothers and sisters from the north east about developmental projects initiated by the Central Government" .
The photo exhibition with the theme "Development Initiatives in North East" is being organized by the Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity (DAVP), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Imphal in collaboration with Kwakta Nagar Panchayat.
The initiative is also being supported by 5/9 Gorkha Rifles.
