Minority girl students to get free bicycles

Parliamentary Secretary in-charge of Minority and Other Backward Classes (MOBC) Amin Shah has announced that the State Government has a policy to provide bicycles to minority girl students free of cost to help them going to schools.
He was speaking as Chief Guest of the 3rd Hanid Shah Memorial Award Distribution Ceremony organized by All Manipur Muslim Students' Organization (AMMSO) at Kuki Inn here today.
Amin Shah further said that rowdies often take advantage of girls going to schools on foot.
The policy for providing free bicycles is to help the girls prevent from such unwanted scenario, he added.
There is need for opening up a separate Directorate for MOBC and also increase the scholarship amount for minority students, the Parliamentary Secretary noted.
The function was also attended by MLA Md Fazur Rahim, President of AMMSO Farid Khan, President of Jamiatul Ulama Syed Ahmed, Secretary of Minority Commission Wahidur Rahman, President of AMMOCOC Kheiruddin Shah, President of UMMWDO Anwari Noorjahan, Advisor of AMMSO Mustafa Alam and Convenor of Students' Wing of JCILPS M Angamba as Presidium members.
Altogether 50 students who scored high marks in Class X and XII Examinations this year were felicitated during the function.
