Imphal, February 03 2010:
The proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party, Military Council, KCP(MC) refuting the claim of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Imphal West Police as published in local papers that one Cpl Khumanijam Ingocha son of Late K tomba resident of Chingmeirong Mamang Leikai belonging to the outfit was apprehended on February 2 said that it is yet another attempt by the Senior SP to drive a wedge between the revolutionary groups and the people.
In a release signed by Lanheiba Meitei, Secretary Military Affairs of the outfit, stating that Igocha is in no way related to the party, said he could be one of the members of a gang which have been propped up by people with vested interest to project the party in a bad light.
The party has never indulged in burning of paddy fields in Mapou Thangal or killings and kidnapping for ransom nor has it used widows and other downtrodden women at any time.
The objective of the party is to bring about an egalitarian society and a free nation where man does not exploit man, said the release.
For those who have become bonded, a party like KCP (MC) which has been pursuing relentlessly the righteous path of revolution, respecting human rights, is always an eye sore, said the release.
Further stating that there is no one by the name of Boy @ Lt Mani in KCP(MC), the release urged the Senior SP to closely interrogate the person and not bring up a gang member to the status of a revolutionary.
Lastly it appealed to the people to support the revolutionary movement and to unite before we lose
our identity.
