NCP to support PA Sangma; MSCP likely to vote Pranab Mukherjee

Imphal, June 18 2012:
NCP North East Coordinating Committee has decided to support PA Sangma, National Secretary of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), in the Presidential election of India and accordingly conveyed the decision to Sharad Pawar, National President of NCP.
The decision to support PA Sangma was adopted in a meeting held at Guwahati with Radhabinod Koijam, Chairman of NCP NECC in the chair and Sharad Pawar was informed of the decision on June 8 .
15 MLA and 1 MP of the party have the voting right in the Presidential election.
Some Congress MLAs from North East states and some other political parties have also reportedly assured to vote for PA Sangma.
On the other hand, it is said that 5 MLAs of Manipur State Congress Committee (MSCP), which is a regional party, are likely to vote for UPA Nominee Candidate Pranab Mukherjee.
However, a final decision in this regard would be taken during a meeting very soon, Mani of President of MSCP has informed.
Trinamool Congress which has 7 MLAs and Naga People's Front (NPF) which has 4 MLAs are also yet to decide on whom to vote for in the Presidential election.
