Imphal, June 18 2012:
With the State Government failing to contribute its share in the construction of Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT), the date for completion of the terminus is likely to be deferred.
As per an agreement reached with the Government, it may be mentioned, the construction was slated to be completed by December 31 last year.
Failing to meet the deadline, another 189 days was extended for its completion subsequently.
As such, the construction is to be completed by July 7 this year.
According to a source, the State's share in the construction of the NEC funded ISBT is about Rs 4 crore.
It is learnt that so far, the State Government has sanctioned around Rs 50 lakh as part of their
share.

The source further revealed that the Government is not in a position to sanction the remaining amount of its share as of now.
Out of its total share of Rs 264 crore, the NEC has already sanctioned Rs 263.5 crore.
The non-release of the State's share coupled with the stationing of many tankers has hampered the construction work of ISBT, the source said.
