Imphal, June 18 2012:
While appreciating the new initiatives taken up by Agriculture Minister Nasir towards development of agriculture sector in Manipur, the banned outfit PREPAK (Pro) has cautioned the Minister not to let his efforts go down the gutter.
Flatly rejecting the allegation that development works could not be implemented properly due to monetary demands made by insurgent groups, PREPAK (Pro) disclosed that it was only from 2005 that revolutionary outfits started paying attention to Government in connection with monetary contributions.
The outfit in a press release issued by its assistant secretary, publicity and propaganda Sunil M asked, "Then what was the Agriculture Department doing from 1949 to 2005 ?" .
If Nasir's initiatives are aimed at hoodwinking the mass to misappropriate public funds in collusion with department officials, he would be assumed as enemy of the people.
Stating PREPAK (Pro) has not been taking monetary help from Agriculture Department for a long time, the outfit further informed that it would not take any monetary help from the department for some more years.
Asserting that Power Department and PHED have been causing undue misery to the general public, the outfit said that it cannot remain a silent spectator any longer.
Befitting actions would be initiated against all corrupt officers, contractors/suppliers and Ministers.
It also appealed to all concerned not to make sports complex a place for carousal.
The outfit further appealed to all relevant officials to utilise the fund sanctioned for installation of blood bank, oxygen plant and development of health infrastructure properly in the interest of the public.
