Demanding implementation of 7th pay in toto, All Manipur Art and Culture Government Employees Association (AMACGEA) staged a sit-in protest at the campus of Art and Culture Department, Palace Compound, today.
Speaking to media persons, president of AMACGEA, Ch Nandakumar stated that the protest demonstration was staged to support Manipur Govt Services Federation in their demand regarding 7th pay.
He also urged the State Government to clear/pay the 17 percent DA immediately, rectify pay anomalies, honour the MOU signed on June 8, 2018 .
Saying that 7th pay is still not revised for employees under the Art and Culture Department, he appealed to the State Government to do the needful at the earliest.
He also said that paying minimum salary to the teachers of music and dance colleges has hurt the sentiment of many teachers who are working equally as hard as any college teachers and has produced many noted personalities.
