Imphal, July 16 2020:
After walking out of the BJP-led coalition Government, MLA Tongbram Robindro (Thanga AC) has renewed his support to the same coalition.
Notably, T Robindro was supporting the BJP-led coalition Government after he was elected to the Manipur Legislative Assembly on Trinamool Congress ticket in 2017.But he walked out of the coalition Government on June 17 this year and pledged support to the Secular Progressive Front (SPF) led by Congress party.
Speaking to media persons at his Khagempalli residence today, T Robindro said that he made an announcement on June 17 of withdrawing support to the BJP-led coalition Government due to certain communication gaps with the Government.
"As all the differences and communication gaps have been addressed, I'm renewing my support to the coalition Government after due consultation with senior citizens, political workers of Thanga AC and senior leaders of the party", Robindro said.
Even though T Robindro was elected on Trinamool Congress ticket, the Speaker's Tribunal disqualified him from being a Member of Manipur Legislative Assembly on June 18 under the anti-defection law on the charge that he had already merged with BJP.
Challenging the disqualification order of the Speaker's Tribunal, T Robindro filed a petition at the High Court of Manipur.
Subsequently, the High Court's annulled the disqualification order till July 20 .
