Sagolband MLA RK Imo Singh today flagged off a group of migrant workers residing at Paona Bazar to their home State of Bihar by hiring a minibus for them.
"Hope they reach safe and sound and come back when things are better.
Each life is important and it's the least we can do for them," Imo said.
He also informed about the contributions of the people of Sagolband in combating the pandemic.
He said contribution keeps pouring in every day for Sagolband Assembly Constituency.
"For today, breakfast was provided by RK (O) Chandabali and her son RK Mintu from Bijoy Govinda, 20 cases of packaged water from Maibam Gogo of Moirang Leirak and evening snacks from Moirangthem Borbabu and Moirangthem (O) Naobi Devi from Bijoy Govinda.
"Recieved Rs 40,000 from the Bijoy Govinda Mamang Leikai Nupi Lup and Rs 5000 from Prof Robita of Pukhrambam Leirak," said the MLA.
He thanked everyone for their valuable contributions.
The MLA said another group of young people namely Olivia Pukhrambam, Trishna Chanambam, Chilma Mutum, Mayanglambam Ameria and Jelish Phurailatpam contributed Rs 2500 for the volunteers at the time of discharge at Johnstone Higher Secondary School quarantine centre.
"Their gesture will always be remembered which will encourage the volunteers to work even harder for the other quarantined members," he added.
