State leaders pay last tribute to E Suraj

With the demise of MLA Elangbam Suraj in an accident at Mayur Vihar, New Delhi on August 18, different organizations in the state have expressed their condolences.
A condolence meeting was organized by the Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly at the premises of the assembly today.
Speaker I Hemochandra, Radhabinod Koijam, Deputy Speaker Th Lokeshwar, Vice Chairman HAC Khangthuanang Panmei, President MPCC Gaikhangam, Power Minister, PHED Minister, Veterinary Minister, IFCD Minister, Works Minister, Health Minister, Deputy Chairman State Planning Board, Senior Member O Joy, other MLAs, Ex MLAs, officers and staff of Assembly Secretariat and relatives of the late MLA E Suraj attended the condolence meeting.
Floral tributes were paid to the mortal remains of late MLA E Suraj before being taken to his home for the last rites.
The meeting observed a two minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
Among the various organizations and political parties, Manipur Democratic People's Front, Imphal Municipal Council, Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee, Communist Party of India, Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Senior Citizen Forum Imphal, Manipur People's Party, HUyen Lallong Manipur Thang-Ta Cultural Association, Patsoi Block Youth Congress Committee, Society for Young Generation Upliftment and Khurai Block Youth Congress Committee expressed their shock and sorrow over the demise of the MLA sharing the grief and pain of the bereaved family of the late MLA.
