The three MLAs from Sadar hills, Chairman and Vice Chairman of ADC Sadar Hills, MDCs, ex-MPs, ex-Ministers and representatives of Sadar Hills Districthood Demand Committee (SHDDC) who are presently camping at New Delhi reportedly held a meeting with Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh today to discuss the demand for upgradation of Sadar hills to a revenue district.
On the other hand, the health condition of five people out of the 12 who have undertaken fast unto death stir over the same demand near Kangpokpi police station since August 16 is reported to be critical.
According to information received from sources in New Delhi, during the meeting, the Chief Minister only said that declaration of Sadar hills as a full-fledged district is 'an obligation, it would be abided, but....' and no further.

As the Chief Minister said nothing more than this and did not give any definite deadline for declaration of Sadar hills as a full-fledged district, the meeting remained unconclusive, sources said, adding that the Chief Minister neither spelled out why the district demand could not be met, if there are any reasons nor made any appeal for lifting the economic blockade and the general strike being imposed along the National Highways since the midnight of August 1 .
Even if the meeting remained unconclusive , the three MLAs from Sadar Hills made it clear to the Chief Minister that they would do whatever they can and at any cost for the fulfilment of the over four decades long demand,.
Meanwhile, CMO of Community Health Centre, Kangpokpi today conducted medical check up on the 12 people, who have been undergoing fast unto death over the demand for upgradation of Sadar hills to a district status near Kangpokpi police station.
After the medical check up at the Community Health Centre, CMO Pushpa Rai said that the health condition of five of them is critical and they should be taken to Imphal for necessary medical treatment before further deterioration in their health condition as there is no such facilities at CHC, Kangpokpi.
