Consumers' Club urges Govt to fix price

Imphal, May 17 2023:
While urging the state government to fix the rate of essential commodities in the interest of the public consid-ering the hardships faced in the aftermath of the ethnic clash, Consumers' Club Ma-nipur has informed all con-cerned not to hike prices of essential commodities.
In a release, Consumers' Club informed that anybody denying rights of consumers can be punished under the Consumer Protection Act 2019.It further appealed retailers to issue cash re-ceipts to the customers and sell goods according to the prices fixed by the state gov-ernment.
It also pointed out in-spite of prices of commodities officially fixed in respect of Bishnupur district, the shop-keepers are yet to display the same while mentioning that with ban on internet all e-commerce works have been affected.
The state government has also failed to arrange al-ternative means to ensure transportation of essential commodities in the state, rued the Consumers' Club.
